WHARTON ENERGY CLUB
The Wharton Energy Club is the hub for energy interest at Penn’s Wharton School. It is led by MBA students, and offers insight into merchant energy, renewable energy, utilities, and traditional oil and gas companies, as well as the intersection of energy with investment banking, investment management, private equity, and consulting. The Energy Club’s goal is to utilize the knowledge and efforts of today’s energy leaders to create the energy executives, entrepreneurs and policymakers of tomorrow.
The main component of the Energy Club education program is “Energy Thursdays”. The Club meets once per week over lunch to hear talks on a variety of topics by speakers who include both students with significant expertise in a given area, and senior executives from the industry. Past topics include “Private Equity in Oil & Gas”, “Energy Storage”, “The Deepwater Horizon Spill”, “Clean Tech Venture Capital”, and more. The Club also organizes energy conferences, competitions and field trips.
